The Yanagi no Gosho Site is believed to be the ruins of Hiraizumi Mansion, the Ōshū Fujiwara polity’s administrative center. The museum’s panels and exhibitions clearly present the exceptional archeological materials from this massive site. The museum also introduces the cooperation of the MLIT, Iwate, and Hiraizumi on the Ichinoseki drainage basin project, Hiraizumi Bypass, and other projects to make use of the town’s historical assets for future of Hiraizumi.
